The design process took into account the "Concept for the Development of Small Rivers 2035," which envisions the restoration of riverbanks and ecosystems, minimization of artificial coverings, control of invasive plant species, integration of the river into the urban space, and ultimately, providing residents with direct access to the river and recreational opportunities.
The site selected for the project is an abandoned yet highly popular pedestrian and cycling route between two industrial zones. It runs along the bank of the small Vinnychka River, which, according to one version, gave the city of Vinnytsia its name.
Thanks to this connection, it is easy to reach the central Roshen embankment from Konovaltsia Street, where the famous multimedia fountains — one of the city’s main tourist attractions — are located.
The park project was developed with consideration for possible future expansion through the revitalization of adjacent industrial areas. One of the first stages of implementation will be the demolition of the solid fence and storage buildings on the Roshen factory site — this will open up views of the factory grounds and visually expand the green space. The separation of pedestrian and bicycle flows is provided for, and a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge has been designed.
During the planning process, existing mature trees — poplars, willows, and walnut trees — were carefully studied and preserved as much as possible.

The space was shaped as a natural green corridor, taking into account the terrain and the existing ecosystem. Instead of a complete replacement of surfaces or rigid geometrization, a gentle intervention approach was applied: pathways were laid out to preserve the contours of green areas and maintain the site's hydrological balance. In the parterre area, the project provides for the installation of benches, lighting, and elements for temporary rest by the water — such as platforms and steps leading down to the river.
The project also carries an important social dimension: this renewed green area represents the first step toward the transformation of an entire industrial segment of the city. In the future, the integration of adjacent abandoned sites into the urban fabric is planned through the creation of new public spaces, community-oriented functions, and collaboration with local residents. In this way, the renovation not only opens access to the river but also lays the foundation for the sustainable development of the surrounding district.
